From A Tech Novice To A Fullstack Developer - Feranmi Oladundoye

Q: Could you tell us a little about yourself and where you are based?

My name is Gbenga Oladunjoye Oluwaferanmi, and I am a motivated Full-Stack Developer based in Magboro, Ogun State, Nigeria. I have a background in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from the University of Ilorin, but my passion for technology led me into software development. I recently completed a Full-Stack Developer internship at Vnicom Tech Hub, where I worked on building scalable web applications, designing and consuming RESTful APIs with C#/.NET Core, and creating responsive front-end interfaces using Vue.js. I enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies, and contributing to impactful projects.

Q: Could you outline your educational background in IT or related fields? Do you come from a technical background? If No, what did you study? How did you learn about tech?

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State. While my degree was not directly in IT, it gave me a strong foundation in problem-solving, systems thinking, and analytical skills, which I have successfully applied in my transition to tech. My journey into technology began with a deep personal interest in building solutions through software. I took the initiative to learn C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, RESTful APIs, and front-end frameworks like Vue.js/Nuxt through structured training, online resources, and practical projects. To strengthen my technical background, I joined Vnicom Tech Hub as a Full-Stack Developer Intern, where I gained hands-on experience developing enterprise-level applications, integrating APIs, managing databases, and applying industry best practices such as SOLID principles and Agile methodology. So while my formal degree is in engineering, my technical expertise in IT has been built through intensive self-learning, professional training, and practical industry experience.
